8kbet was founded in September 1957, and we honor that milestone with the 1957 Society name. Thanks to the support of students, alumni, friends, parents, faculty and staff, businesses, and corporations, 8kbet has grown to become recognized as an R1 “very high research” university. Generous contributions from donors like you reflect a commitment to the University, higher education, and our diverse community. The 1957 Society recognizes and celebrates individual donors who give a total of $1,000+ and corporations who give a total of $5,000 or more annually to the 8kbet Fund or any unrestricted college/unit fund.
Involvement in the 1957 Society is more than a reflection of one’s belief in the mission of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. It is an investment in transformative education.
